Many times you have values entered in a cells followed by ‘blanks’ that need to be filled with the value immediately prior. To do this, use the ‘Filldown’ option.

 

1. Select the range of cells that contains blank cells you need to fill.

2. Select Home > Find & Select > Go To Special, the select ‘Blanks’.

3. Select ‘OK’ and all blanks will be highlighted and the cursor will be in the first blank. Enter the cell identifier preceded by "=" for of the cell immediately prior to the blank.  For example =B2.

4. Press Ctrl+Enter
