If a client has tier-based contributions based on an employee's or dependent's tobacco use please follow the steps below to set up the contributions:


1. On the plan Contributions tab, set the appropriate CONTRIBUTION TYPE, either Employee or Employer


2. Set the CONTRIBUTION DETAIL as Tier-Tobacco


3. Set the CHECK TOBACCO USERS as either Employee Only, Employee or Spouse, or Employee or Spouse or Children based on the contribution rules



4. Enter in the contributions under each Non-Tobacco/Tobacco tier


This setup will look at employee/dependent tobacco status on their profile and generate the correct contribution amounts. If tobacco using employees or dependents are in a smoking cessation program and that would qualify them for a non smoking contribution, be sure that the CESSATION PROGRAM Eligible box is checked on the Plan Profile tab.
